Installation of Chain Drive Garage Door Openers

Installation Tips:

Chain Drive Garage Door Opener is the most popular garage door opener in the market. It utilizes a chain, which like a bike chain, to push or pull a trolley to open or close the garage door. Before your installation process, please carefully study and follow the User Manual.

Firstly, you need to lubricate the chain and chain bracket on the opener. Tight the chain slightly, but not too tight. Check if the chain hangs down or too tight like a bowstring. Fasten the chain screws and make sure a spring wash has been used.

Then, mount the opener and run the wires of garage door sensors. Please check the balance of your garage door before connecting the opener arm to your garage door. Improper balance adjustment is the top reason for gear problems. See my blog to learn how to check the garage door balance.

Last, check the function of safety sensors before the completion of your installation project. If the sensors are interrupted or blocked, the opener should stop closing your door and lift the door automatically. If the opener can’t stop closing and keep going down, adjust the position of these sensors and align the sensors properly.
