Installation of Screw Drive Garage Door Openers
Installation Tips:
Screw Drive Garage Door Opener has the fewest parts to deliver force from its motor to the garage door, to assemble its threaded rod and other components could cost you at least half a day, dependent on a few factors. If you have no experience in opener installation before, you may take a longer time to become familiar with all the parts of the opener. To study and follow the user manual is a shortcut. Following the tips below, you will save more time and do correctly from the beginning.
Prior to your installation, we recommend you lubricate the threaded rod and other hardware. Once the opener is mounted, you would almost have no chance to fully lubricate all the parts. If needed, you can use degrease spray to remove old grease before every lubrication. Your new grease can be bean-sized and even apply on the rod every foot from the motor to the other end.
Secondly, you would like to check the balance of the garage door before engaging the opener arm to your garage door. Without proper adjustment, your new opener would have high chance to fall into gear problems. See my blog to learn how to check and adjust the garage door balance.
Lastly, please check the function of safety sensors before the completion of your installation project. If the sensors are interrupted or blocked, the opener should stop closing your door and lift the door automatically. If the opener can’t stop closing and keep going down, adjust the position of these sensors and align the sensors properly.
