You could follow the following steps to conduct an initial diagnose.
Review garage door metal tracks including vertical and horizontal parts, to detect any bent or loosen nuts or screws. Tight the loosen screws and nuts first.
Check garage door cables at both sides of the door. A functional cable should be tightened and has high tension, like the string of a bow. A loose cable may be caused by a broken spring or a rusted bottom bracket.
Check the spring and bracket to see if they are broken. Replace the broken parts if noticed.
